Down The Hill
  • Down The Hill

  • Walking to Chinatown for the Chinese New Years Parade was one of my first real opportunities to explore some of the more urban streets and images of San Francisco. Walking downhill on Sacramento St. we had a chance to see a great blend of people: tourists heading to the parade, shopkeepers closing down their stores, cops walking the beat, restaurant workers taking a smoking break, and even a couple of photographers trying to capture their best shot. This photo is all about the lines. I was drawn to the way the road, building, fire escapes, and women all criss-cross the composition. I also liked the two orange windows on top.
